They became Financially Independent aged 34 (including mortgage-free in 7 years) with Ken having started his journey as a first-generation immigrant to the UK aged 14 and Mary was born to a hard-working immigrant family in London. Ken and Mary have 2 children aged 11 and 9 and love outdoor activities and travelling to explore new cultural adventures.

Ken is a Chartered Accountant (ACA, ICAEW) and holds an MBA from the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. He has over 14 years of experience as an executive Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in the Investment Business in London and took the leap in April 2020 to begin running his own business full time together with his wife, Mary, as business partners.

Mary is an entrepreneur with 12 years of experience across media and IT, with 7 years also growing a childcare business.

Together, their work at The Humble Penny and Financial Joy Academy has helped over 5 million people improve their relationship with money and, they recently got named ‘Entrepreneur Senior Leaders of The Year' by the prestigious Black British Business Awards.
